Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 27, 2026

These Terms govern your use of HexWander (the "Service"), operated by CoastMedia("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

HexWander is a web-based hex-crawl toolkit for tabletop role-playing game masters, providing map management, fog-of-war reveal, cell content, timeline, entity registry, and related features.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. If you create an account on behalf of an organisation you confirm you have authority to bind it. Individual users must be of legal age in their jurisdiction.

3. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service. In particular you must not:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to infringe others' rights;
  • engage in fraud or spam;
  • upload content that infringes intellectual-property rights;
  • interfere with security — including probing, scanning, distributing malware, or scraping;
  • reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service, or circumvent technical limits.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you upload (maps, notes, images, sounds). You grant CoastMedia a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, and process your content solely to provide the Service to you.

5. Intellectual property

CoastMedia retains all rights in the Service, including software, documentation, and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within the plan you subscribe to.

6. Payments, subscriptions, taxes

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, taxes, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.

Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can manage your subscription through the account portal linked from your HexWander account page.

7. Service level

We work to keep the Service available and functional, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, in whole or in part, for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. On termination you will have a reasonable window to export your content, after which it may be deleted.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or incidental damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence).

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify CoastMedia against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CoastMedia is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

13. Assignment; force majeure

You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
